Jerry Macari

Coach Macari is the founder and head coach of Urban Athletics NYC. He has nearly 35 years of coaching experience, having received the first issued USATF coaching certification in 1986. He has coached countless runners to PRs and has also guided multiple New York Road Runners Runner Of The Year and nominees, National USATF Champions and medal winners as well helping some to completing there first 5K. As an athlete, he been voted New York Road Runners Master Runner Of The Year, been nominated numerous other times, and been awarded the USATF Open Road Runner Of The Year. He has won nearly 100 road races in the NYC metropolitan are has personal best times of 2:24 for the marathon, 52:13 for 10 miles, 31:05 for 10K, 14:48 for 5K and 4:18 for the mile. His vast experience and personal knowledge of how to maximize potential make him someone you can count on to help attain your running goals.

Tony Ruiz

Coach Ruiz is an accomplished runner and coach with a tremendous following in New York City.  He has been the Head Coach of Central Park Track for over 20 years and has guided the team to multiple USATF Club Championships. He has also guided several Olympic Trials Qualifiers , multiple New York Runners Runners Of The Year nominees and winners as well as many other local winning athletes. As an athlete Tony been a member of the Puerto Rican Olympic Team as an alternate in the 800 and 1500 meters, been a  first place finisher  at the world renowned Penn Relays, and was New York City Champion at 800 meters.   He has PR’s of 19:54 for 4 miles, 24:44 for 5 miles and 31:19 for 10K.

Nina Lee

Coach Lee was a Sydney Australia  Olympics Games qualifying sprinter for the Georgian National Team.  With over 20 years of experience she achieves results for her clients by imparting the same discipline and technical expertise  which paved the way to her own successes. She is a graduate of the renowned Sports Academy of the Republic of Georgia and is certified as an AAPT trainer. Her specialties include sprints, speed, power training , agility and power training. Whether you’re training for serious competition or simply trying to improve you overall health and fitness, Nina’s hard won understanding  of athletic fundamentals will  get you to where you want to go.

Kavan Green

Coach Green has a long history of running both as a coach and as an athlete. Kavan has run over 20 marathons with a best of 2:54. He has also run 4:28 for the mile and 9:50 for 2 miles. He has been working with runners of all abilities for over 15 years . He currently leads our Central Park Youth/Junior program with an enrollment of over 50 runners. Kavan is certified as a National Academy of Sports Medicine strength coach . This knowledge and experience is critical in helping all to achieve their potential.
