HOW TO DO A TEMPO
Had a perfect session last night where all 8 were “fast at the end “. This is almost always the best way to execute a workout or a race for that matter. You feel good and your body likes it !!! The exception would be the workout or race where you make a conscious decision to get to THE NEXT LEVEL. Going to uncharted territory to expand your limits on occasion is a requirement for real improvement. You have to roll the dice now and them and put a little risk into the equation…when you’re ready and under the right circumstance !! :). Anyway, nice job by everyone last night.
DESPITE A BLISTERING BROOKLYN 5 FROM TEAM UA GET PR’S AND WORLD CLASS TIMES
Summer arrived early on Sunday in Brooklyn but 16 from TEAM UA toed the line and got the job done !!! Five from the squad deserve special shout outs. First, Kristen Mendez, Sachin Parasher and Phillipp Schnabl posted BIG PR’s with Kristen going 1:35:05 Sachin going 1:24:08 and Phillipp going 1:29:31. PR’s on a day like Sunday mean even faster times ahead. I wonder what they are planning next ?? Next up is once again, Fiona “The Fiona” Bayly who scored HUGE with a 1:24:27 and an incredible age grade score of 91% !!!! Maybe overall, the best in the world !!!! Last but not least, WELCOME BACK Cathrine Wolden who went low in 1:29:59 and posted a world class age grade of 82.02 !!! Hope to see more of Cathrine !!! Congrats to all who ran and finished …tough day but not for tough people !!!

McKinney And Takai Teach A Master Class At the 2022 BOSTON MARATHON
Had a double dose of UA personal records yesterday at THE BOSTON MARATHON with our own Geoff Mckinney and Kaori Takai bringing the glory back to NYC. Geoff posted an outstanding 2:58:27 and while this time puts him in rarified air I think his perseverance over these last couple years is what I admire the most..never give up !! Congrats !!! Kaori covered the 26.2 in a 3:33:32 clocking and …YES….ANOTHER PR. While it’s easy to take her marathoning for granted, these kind of accomplishments come from a strong will, courage and determination. Thx to both of you for the inspiration, an example of what’s possible and maybe a kick in the ass !!! Enjoy your accomplishments !!!!
